So apparently I've left you hanging since Aug 6, 2009 (sorry). I can truly say A LOT has happened since then so let me sum it up for ya.
Lets start back at Aug 6, 2009. Adam and I were just celebrating our one year anniversary of meeting each other, and what better way to celebrate that than a honeymoon in Chicago. Adam LOVES Chicago and I had never been there so it was an awesome honeymoon in my book. I got to see all the historic sites (like the Willis (Sears) Tower, John Hancock Building (where we ate an awesome lunch on the 95 floor...gorgeous view), got to see the famous fountain, where Opera lived, Navy Pier, Shedd's Aquarium, and a few other places. It was an amazing honeymoon and from looking at the pictures, it was starting to show that I was pregnant. haha
Once we got back we got settled into our new home. It was a nice 2 bedroom home but boy was it small. The garage was as big as the house (but we did love that garage too) haha. Right after we got back from Chicago we discovered what we were having. A baby boy. At first I was a bit upset, I really wanted a little girl but it didn't take long for me to warm up to the idea that I was having a boy. It took us a while to come up with a name, and in the end Adam ended up choosing his name. Jackson Wesley. The moment I heard it I fell in love, and it was set. Pregnancy was easy then it wasn't. I stayed very physical during the pregnancy. Worked a job on my feet for 7 hours at a time (Good Ol' Casey's General Store). Sadly that was about the only easy part was the fact that I had mobility throughout the entire pregnancy, but the unpleasant part was of course the nausea which even though fizzled out after 15 weeks, still showed its ugly face on rare occasions. Then the gestational diabetes. That was a NIGHTMARE! I was never officially diagnosed with it but they treated me like I had it, and all it required me to do was 3 - 3 hour blood glucose test, which floored the lab techs, your only supposed to have one...nope not me, I was blessed with three!! Finally after the third they just gave up and put me on insulin with only a month of pregnancy to go (usually they get you going on insulin once your 5 months in). So here I am stabbing myself daily with insulin, then the even better part was the bed rest. After 37 weeks of pregnancy my Dr. notice how swollen my entire body was (especially my ankles and feet...they were poofy!) so Bed rest it was, which was I guess cool. I was placed on bed rest 2 days before Christmas so I got to spend it with family and not having to work.
Christmas was fun though. It was my first Christmas in my own home. Adam got us a fun tree that was pre-lit (yay) and I had it set up before Thanksgiving. My house was warm and cozy. Got to spend it with Adam too which made it even better, got some really cute things for Adam and he did the same for me, but the greatest present of all came 4 days later....
December 29, 2009. Well, that day started out normal. I had a Dr. appointment that day at 1:30. We were going to do a sonogram, stress test, and OB visit, well, needless to say we only made it to the sonogram. During the sonogram the tech kept having this look on her face that was just scaring the snot out of me, she said that our boy was BIG (now, nobody wants to hear that they have a big baby then think about popping it out of there snatch...um...no...scary thoughts), she said that there was a huge possibility that I would not be able to pass him Vbac, and then she did the amniotic fluid test, and that sealed the deal. I had almost no amniotic fluid left, which means only one thing... Emergency C-Section. Ha!! Talk about NO TIME TO MENTALLY PREPARE! Within the hour Adam and I found ourselves in the maternity ward at Memorial Medical Center, now to my sad misfortune I had eaten half a bagel earlier that day, so I had to sit for 6 hours until it was completely passed out of my stomach. Well we got to the hospital at 2ish but due to other people having more serious issues that required emergency c-sections, we were kinda pushed back. That was the longest 8 hours of my life, funny part was once we got to the hospital I began to go into active labor, I could only recall having one or two contractions prior to my visit and they really weren't all that painful, but once I got into my room I started having them every 4 minutes, but was in so much distress about the c-section that I wasn't feeling them, they were showing on the charts as major contractions and yet I wasn't feeling a thing (If this is labor...whatta breeze!) Needless to say about 9:45 they prepared me for surgery. First off let me mention one thing... I LOVE SPINAL TAPS!! From my chest down I was 100% Numb!! The actual procedure was completely painless, and at 10:20pm Adam and I welcomed into the world Jackson Wesley Fagan. He ended up weighing 9pds even and was 21 inches long. It was the most amazing, scary, and overwhelming feelings in the world. Seeing my son completely changed my attitude towards life, and the minute I got to hold him after surgery was the most amazing moment. It's so hard to describe, but to you mothers out there, you know what I'm talking about. My recovery was great, After I left the hospital I decided to not take any pain medication. I wanted to take the pain as it came to know if something was going wrong or not. Jackson was a big jaundice when he was born so we had to keep close monitoring on him but after a week it went away with out any sort of billi lights or anything just some natural sunlight fixed that problem.
So Here I was, A new mom...the next 6 weeks were amazing. I loved spending every waking moment with Jackson. Then ... well ... back to work. I knew that I couldn't continue to work at Casey's. I just wasn't happy working the same job for going on 4 years, I knew it was time for a change ... and after a year of telling myself I needed one, I finally got off my butt and did something about it. I heard on the radio that a job called CCB Credit Services was hiring and I figured eh...why not. So I applied online and low and behold one week later got a call back for an Interview, and shortly after was hired. Now, trust me...there is no glamor to being a debt collector, but truthfully I do enjoy the job. I look at it this way, instead of ruining a person's day, I can help them with there debt, you almost have to stay positive with a job like that. So in early April I started working there, and I'm still currently there.
Right before starting CCB, Adam and I decided to do something drastic. In early March our landlord came over to fix a back like by our garage, well we got into a discussion about other homes she had when she had mentioned a three bedroom home downtown with a fenced in back yard and full basement that they were almost finished with, well that caught my attention. Adam and I loved the little home we were in, but it was just too small for our family of three. So I mentioned the house to Adam and within three weeks we were moved into our new home, and I couldn't' be happier! our house is HUGE compared to the old one. Now sadly we did lose our garage for a small driveway, and gained a completely retarded neighbor, who needs to learn that you cant have parties and fights outside, the cops will get called....DUH! Minus them, our neighbors are great. The house is awesome too, sooooooo much more room, Adam gets a man cave, I get a place to do my laundry, and there is a bathroom that more than one person can fit in...um...YAY!
So here is where we are at now pretty much. Jackson is going on 6 months old, and he's a cutie!! Looks a lot like Adam with bits and pieces of me here and there. He's always happy and smiling. He is developing great too, always in the 90% + in growth and development. We just started him on baby food too and so far his favorites are: Sweet Potatoes, Bananas, and Pears! Adam and I are doing great too, we have our bumps in the road every now and then, but were still technically newlyweds, we did just celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary last month (which ironically was the same day as my first mother's day too.) We only get to see each other on the weekends though, but we make it work. Adam is doing radio again for basementradio.net on Sunday nights called: World Wide Wes. It's pretty funny, you should check it out. Besides that life is going great. That's about where I'm at at the moment. I've been typing for about 30 minutes now... kind of tired... ready for bed, but I remembered that I had blogger so I figured shoot....why not. LOL. Peace out my peeps!! I'm sure I'll update again in a year (or maybe before, who knows) Haha!! Much Love!
